I’m playing for the first time in my life now.

I’ve recently had my first kid, and as such, I need a game that I can quickly pick up and put down. Ideally, the game is also playable in long form as well.

Enter openmw for android. The only on screen controls that have ever been usable. Convenient quick save. Minimal load times.

I can hop on, play a little, and get off in a hurry if I need to. I thought I’d be stuck playing old Pokemon ROMs with save states until she hit an age of independence.

I’ve had goty for like 20 years, I still play it every other year.

and then you just install this like a mod?

are there pretty simple instructions to follow somewhere?

I basically follow YouTube tutorials to install mods

I’m not sure about instructions… This is more like an engine for running the game on your phone

I’m here if you need help.

In short, go here to install

          https://gitlab.com/cavebros/openmw-android-docker/-/releases

And find the latest file ending in APK.

You can install this from your phone by clicking it from your files app.

Then you need to copy the game to your phone. The entire folder needs to be present. You can just point the app to the folder with the game and it’ll do what it needs to do.

If you can get Tamriel Rebuilt installed there as well, you’ll have a game you can play for a long, long time

It is a community-built mod for Morrowind which aims to expand the lands of original Morrowind. Basically, Bethesda (the makers of Morrowind) originally planned to make the lands of Morrowind much bigger, but scraped a part because they were busy enough anyway. Project Tamriel wants to recreate the scraped part of the province. It is a community mod going on for over 20 years already at this point, and it is now bigger, with more quests and NPCs than original Morrowind. You basically get a second Morrowind for free! If you haven’t checked it out yet, I’d heavily recommend you to do so - it is completely free, and can integrate seamlessly into the “main” Morrowind.
