Liberals are scratched
That’s just wrong. Americans are desperate for major changes to a system that just isn’t working for us. It works great for the rich and for corporations, but not for the average American.
Democrats have ignored the plight of the average American by only looking at the data that affects corporations and the rich. And that data shows that everything is great. We have one political party that’s so wildly out of touch with reality.
On the other side, we have MAGA Republicans who actually acknowledge the struggles of average Americans. The MAGA Republicans make grand claims of tearing the whole damn system down which is very appealing. The system isn’t working for us, we’d love to see it tear down.
But the Republican party is a bitter pill. With them in charge comes abuse of power, crime, and authoritarianism.
So on one hand, we have the Democrat party that’s out of touch with reality, holds elitist attitudes towards average Americans, and has a long track record of implimenting meaningless micro-changes that don’t actually address the seriousness of the problems.
Then on the other hand, we have the Republican party that directly speaks to the average American, acknowledges their struggles, yet redirects their anger towards minorities & women, and has fascistic tendencies.
It’s a tough choice between Democrat, Republican, and casting no vote at all. I can’t blame the average American for voting for Trump to burn the whole damn system down. The Democrats need to get their shit together, but as of now they’d rather just voter shame and victim blame.
They’re not going to retake power for a long time, and even then they wouldn’t do anything with that power to fix what’s broken.
I do believe, after seeing how the DNC is learning (or more accurately, absolutely refusing to learn) from this absolute debacle, that the Democratic Party is straight up finished.
If elections are allowed in 2026, the DNC may subject all of us to one last feeble attempt to move towards the center in the midterms, and if they win it’ll be a dead cat bounce (just because the GOP demonstrably SUCKS at governing, and Democratic candidates can just run on “we’re not those fucking idiots”). They’re obviously completely co-opted by corporations and rich people at this point, and that’s not getting rolled back, despite the fact that that fact is a huge part of why they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. And the article is more or less expressing that last sentence.
The Democrat party used to be the party of the people, but they aren’t anymore. They don’t want to be anymore and it’s been like that since Bill Clinton.
They gave up when they sat out the election or protest voted.
Ahem, lefties.
