Ok but playing a game through a mirror would be hard af
Solution: play through two mirrors
Controller settings: Reverse X Axis.
Not on the GameCube tho, where button remapping involves a soldering iron or a custom PCB.
There are quite a lot of GameCube games that let you invert the camera controls. But I’m not aware of any that would let you invert the left analog stick
Is that Metroid Prime? Especially Metroid Prime.
You swap the left/right controls on the controller. Or game settings.
I have no idea if that would work but it sounds good and dammit now I wanna try it.
Yeah, there wouldn’t be any options to swap left/right movement on a Gamecube. Back then you were lucky if a game had more than a handful of settings at all. It would be interesting to try on a system that allows it. I also wonder if you just practiced it enough if your brain would adjust. Sort of like that deal with the reversed controls on a bicycle that Tom Scott(?) did a video about a while back.
I think that was Destin Sandlin from “Smarter Every Day” but yes I bet that would work. Although it might have some deleterious side effects like the inverted glasses experiment (see George Stratton and Dr. Alyssa Brewer)… nothing permanent since they were glasses that could be removed. This would be a very interesting experiment though if it hasn’t been done.
Or being the tinkerer I am I’d probably just figure out how to rewire the control to do it. Not that that would be super easy mind you.
When that door is closed, you’re forced to stare at yourself on the toilet.
Practicing my war face
You say “forced to”, he says “able to” 🤷
Oh that’s very true and just weird.
Helps increase the pleasure.
Bathroom design advice: don’t hang mirrors facing toilets.
Unless you’re into that shit, pun intended…
BEST. CONTROLLER. EVER
Disagree. It didn’t have rumble. That reason alone is why I always stuck with the wired controllers.
Never much fan of that feedback. Also, battery life!
This just unlocked a memory of running a PS2 controller extension cable to use on the toilet 🤦🏻♂️😆
As someone who’s currently rolling a nut log, this has come full circle. If only Nintendo could see me stream their games to my phone while I churn some fresh colon sausage.
I generally nut ropes, but mad props to a man who can nut logs

These were the best damn controllers.
I still have mine lol absolutely love it
Man. I remember both using the controller and seeing that add. One of those GameInformer magazines way back when it was still around.
My absolute favourite controller of all time. No contest.
I’ve bought a kickstarter gamecube controller that’s supposed to be shipped by February. It’s basically a modern GameCube controller, usb-C, wireless, cables to put it directly into GCN/N64… the price is a little hefty but for a good controller (that hopefully lasts longer than my ps5 stick…) I’m willing to pay that.
Here’s the link for anyone interested, but I think you can’t get any more: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nicemitch/gc-ultimate-controller-kit/
For those that don’t care about being able to plug it into the GameCube or N64 there is also the Nyxi Wizard

Carpet in the bathroom? Bold choice
You’ve never heard of bathmats? They’re fairly common worldwide.
Any carpet in the bathroom ends up smelling like urine, especially with little boys in the house. Heck big boys too. At least with a rug you can through it in the washing machine. Carpet not so much. My grandmother had carpet in her bathroom. And those weird soft toilet seats that eventually cracked and would pinch your backside when you sat down. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
And I’m talking about a bath mat/rug. As clearly shown in the picture. I’m not a 100%, but I don’t think they use the kind of glued on whole floor carpet anywhere outside the US because it’s just crazy. Carpet elsewhere is just normal carpets/rugs, like sane people use.
The house I’m in right now has 3 bathrooms and they all have carpet. It’s carpet everywhere actually.
Worldwide? Never seen in my life even in media.
Yes? And how prominently do bathroom floors feature in the media you consume? It’s not like this is some outlandish concept lmao
The good old days.
