Posting out of order, because crossposting from !peanuts@midwest.social
This is exactly the story of Buzz Aldrin. After experiencing the pinnacle of human achievement, he went into a depression spiral that lasted many years.
At least he went out strong and punched a moon landing truther that was harassing him in the face:
Sad to think he went from this to endorsing arguably the largest purveyor of conspiracy theories in American history: https://www.space.com/space-exploration/apollo/apollo-11-moonwalker-buzz-aldrin-endorses-trump-for-president
Oof, that sucks. I understand him wanting more focus on space exploration, but still
Ouchie
That’s a classic
Lucy is acting like she’s so wise, but the reality is her constant abuse by refusing to let him kick the ball is what made it what it is in his head.
Why in the world is this posted as a gif?
That’s the way they exist on the site 🤷
There are a very few SMBCs that use the gif format, so maybe that’s why the site does it. I’ve been posting by hand so haven’t bothered to do any conversion, but maybe if I script it I can throw in a conversion to png or webp
Weird. Reason I asked was because it broke my app, which doesn’t support both zooming in and scrolling around while zoomed. Didn’t realise that’s the original format.
File a bug report!
Sync dev has been MIA for 8 months. This was the final straw for me to switch apps.
Introducing the latest Peanuts special: “Be Careful What You Wish For, Charlie Brown.”
So kinda like the “burn your future potential for immediate short-term power” in cultivation comics eh
I haven’t heard the term “cultivation comics” before. A quick search shows it might be a specific type of manga?
It’s a genre that’s mostly popular in China, Korea, and Japan, about martial artists who ‘cultivate’ their inner chi to become superhumans. Not just comics, written novels exist as well.
