Steam on macOS zooms in the complete interface when you double-tap your track pad with two fingers

This gesture is used to zoom in on web pages, similar to how you can double tap on Android or iOS to zoom into a section of a website. This should of course not happen on some crappy web-wrapper for a desktop application.
