Summary

Trump’s anti-trans rhetoric and policies during the 2024 election deeply affected LGBTQ+ youth, with some teens forming a suicide pact if Trump won.

Carolyn Fisher, a former Trump supporter in Alabama, discovered her non-binary child was involved in such a pact and struggling due to bullying, restrictive school policies, and fears of anti-trans legislation.

Her family’s experience highlights the widespread emotional toll on trans youth and their families, with crisis hotlines reporting record calls post-election.

Families nationwide are considering relocation as conservative states advance anti-trans policies.

Yeah Leelah Alcorn shocked a lot of people a decade ago. I attended her memorial service, her parents didn’t.

Increasingly I think these attacks on trans kids are because people want these kids dead. I struggle to see other reasoning with the evidence we have.
