Summary

Donald Trump and Republicans plan to target progressive nonprofits, researchers, and civil society groups in his second term, raising concerns of authoritarianism, according to the Congressional Integrity Project.

Potential actions include politically motivated investigations, IRS scrutiny, and restrictive legislation, with nominees like Billy Long (IRS) and Pam Bondi (attorney general) aligning with these goals.

Efforts mirror the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, aimed at silencing dissent.

In response, CIP launched the Civic Defense Project to defend progressive groups and counter perceived abuses of power. Critics warn this could undermine democracy and stifle dissent.

I blame Merrick Garland. Four years to give orange turd and friends consequences of their actions, and the dude sits on his thumbs because doing so would “seem political”. Some guy who shot another guy in the street is up for terrorism charges, but the head man of an insurrection is now going to be president. All because the spineless Garland didn’t want to “look political”. Justice is dead guys.

Thank you, my concerns have been raised. Could Trump be an authoritarian?

15 House Democrats voted to allow the Secretary of the Treasury to declare any non-profit to be terrorist supporting with no due process and remove their tax exempt status. The bill is all but certain to pass in the next Congress.

Yeah, with a goal of supporting Israel harder. Because Israel buys our politicians, both sides.

The issue is, is that any ‘fraud’ or unreported/untaxed revenue would be almost negligible compared to for-profit organizations, making it rather… Wait for it… Inefficient.

So, I guess mister Martian man department is actually DOGI

They said awful things, terribly huge, awfu- you should hear the things they say, ask anybody, they’ll tell you and we’re going to stop the terrible bad things-horribly bad. That’s right, for America.
