In my house growing up, from the second we finished thanksgiving dinner until new years eve my mom played nothing but Xmas music in the house. Over and over and over again. All day. I hated Xmas music for years after I moved out. It’s mostly just tolerable these days, but ever since I changed jobs and temporarily moved back in with them in-between selling my previous house and bought a new one I now feel the same about the Beatles as I did Xmas music growing up. Because that’s ALL she listens to. Ever.
My mom had one of those multi-CD changers in her car containing the 4 Horsemen of the Acoustic Apocalypse: Mariah Carey, Kenny G, Michael Bolton, and Celine Dion. Strangely, one day they disappeared and “no one knew where they’d gone.”
