    I’m kind of sad that you haven’t changed enough to be incompatible with that person. The people I was into at 22 are not the people I am into now.

      Maybe they just found a partner who evolved like themself? It doesn’t become a shitty choice for OP, just because you couldn’t imagine it working for you. It would be a shitty choice for OP if it didn’t work for OP

      I don’t look at marriage in that way. I don’t see anyone at any age as a permanent person. We are all changing constantly.

      I see it more as you make a commitment to eachother to see eachother through life, whatever it brings. We made it through a lot of different things such as a near death experience, job losses, disability and sudden moves.

      I don’t feel like I need to be the same person or enjoy the same hobbies. As long as the respect and trust is there I’m good. Everyone is different though and have different needs. For us we value stability since both of us lacked family support growing up.
