We don’t know how long they’ve been together.

I would not want my first meeting with someone’s mother to be on their deathbed. And as a grown woman, I wouldn’t want my son’s new piece of ass at my deathbed, either.

I definitely was a weirdo who didn’t understand this. Girl I dated for two weeks shared she wasn’t available because of a funeral and my stupid horny ass said, “I can go with you. It’ll be like a date.”

And she had every right to give me a wtf face.

And that’s when I learned time and place.

I did it the other way. My grandmother was dying in the hospital and I invited a girl I’d gone on maybe two dates with to the vigil. She was like “uh … no?” and I never heard from her ever again. And rightfully so.

Yeah, barring some kind of established issue with hospitals.

Can’t really hold it against someone when they have avoidance of a place that’s damn near universally traumatic, even with the best possible outcomes.

I worked in the damn things here and there over the years, and I despise being at one as a visitor, even when it isn’t to visit a patient. I’ll do it when necessary, but I know how that little kernel of dread feels, so I can’t blame anyone that can’t/won’t visit in a hospital.

Share something wholesome about a friend looking out for another friend, and incel commenters got nothing better to do than shit on the girlfriend.

    What is this, Reddit?

      Remove “girl” from the equation.

They are still a shitty person.

What kind of take is this?

My immediate reaction was that they’re shitty person too. But I’d also do the same thing anon did and let them have their party.

But are they shitty? It depends how deep is their relationship ig. If she’s the one you are going to marry then they’re shitty. If the relationship is still in beginning phase, they’re kinda like a distant friend and not necessarily needed to be with us in our hard times. I am sure anon’s best bro is way closer to anon than his gf.

If I were a betting man (and I am), my money would be on it being fake (and gay, obvs) to elicit the exact type of woman bad comments you’d expect

One thing I’ve learned after a year on lemmy: learn to block whole instances. Yeah I see fewer comments, but I also see fewer stupid ass, brain dead takes.

Until the last line I thought the end result would be her making out with someone else.
