Well Karl Marx theorized that communism would arise after a long period of social evolution. Therefore they are just socially evolving and not capitalist and somehow not hypocrites.

Nobody does marxist communism, there’a always some cult of personality, dictatorship, or tyrant at the helm and the people get lip service and the worst aspects of social policy designed to extract wealth and power. Instead of multiple corporation trying to control you and having to play nice to keep you vs the other guys, the State becomes the rotten corporation beholden to nobody and only has to offer enough service to keep everyone from revolting while holding them essentially hostage.
