Hi all, glad I found this community from the 3D printing one.

I’m looking to build. 2.4 and was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good kit on Europe.

I did some googling, but most results I find are US or way too expensive.

I’m hoping to spend around €1000 without printed parts if possible, but willing to spend more for good quality parts.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much for your input. This is exactly the info I was looking for.

The LDO kit is twice the price of the Formbot one. Any idea what I’d be giving up by going with that?

No worries, happy to provide some info.

The general consensus on formbot is that it’s good enough and the current (say past 6 months or so) set of components they’re shipping are much improved over some of the components they were originally shipping. Formbot kits adhear to the stock Voron BOM pretty tightly. That said, wiring breaks in the cable chains seen somewhat common. Not that they’re guaranteed not to happen with “better” wiring given all the continual flexing. This is one of the reasons why CAN toolheads and umbilicals are getting popular.

LDO kits have “better quality” components include and deviate from the stock BOM some. For example, they include a 4.3" touch screen. They also add on some popular mods (for example, fans for a nevermore filter, a toolhead PCB, etc) and some quality of life components like a heatserts tool. Both companies publish their current BOM, I would give both a dive and see which you prefer.

I live in the US and went with “option c” - a configurable kit from west3d.
