The question that I have is, when will we realize that police and prisons haven’t fixed a damn thing, and start doing something that works to reduce violence, like addressing decades of poverty, declining community, and racism?

(Oh lordy, I just realized that the answer is “never.”)

We need to get the D.A. to start prosecuting crime. Even other cities are making fun of the D.A. for not doing anything.

In the short-term perhaps, but long-term, it just produces more crime. The United States has a larger portion of its populace imprisoned than any other country in the world. It hasn’t worked, we still have this violence.

I’m saying that we should do something that reduces crime in the long-term.

What’s stopping people from trying both short term and long term ideas?

Long-term fixes require addressing poverty, inequality, and racism. Can you see America doing that any time soon?

People need to choose to act. Every single person has the ability to choose.
