What a weird article.
The guy basically did a bunch of extreme sports, abandoned the entire idea after literally first relatively minor injury, and decided to announce it to the world?
I really don’t get what this article is trying to say.
Extreme sports are dangerous, who knew?I’m 42 and learned downhill biking during the pandemic. This guy sounds like he didn’t have a clue how to ride technical steep terrain and he paid the price. Age has nothing to do with it. Proper descending technique and knowing the trail are how you remain uninjured.
Also he’s ok with throwing himself down a mountain on a bike but he hesitates on going down a zip line? Those aren’t really the same level of danger.
Yeah, sounds like a bad idea, but also a bad tour guide. Throw someone who really has not much MTB experience down a difficult mountain trail? And when he injures himself, just tell him that he is fine?
Sounds like an Onion headline.
