Meta’s copyright defense may hinge on court ignorance of torrenting terminology.
Previously, a Meta executive in charge of project management, Michael Clark, had testified that Meta allegedly modified torrenting settings “so that the smallest amount of seeding possible could occur,” which seems to support authors’ claims that some seeding occurred.
It really seems like their defense is coming down to “we may have seeded a little bit but there’s no proof”
My gfs daughter downloaded a movie, MPAA hit my ISP with a cease and desist within hrs, she didn’t seed except while getting it. Why are they allowed to do it?
Lol, torrenting without seeding… as if I needed to hate meta more.
(Although admittedly, I didn’t seed as a teen because of complications with a router I didn’t have admin rights to, but as a young adult, the unfortunately defunct PleasureDome folks did teach me to respect seeding).
Please can something just give and shut these fucking parasites down already!
Fuck leeches
Their lawyers have to be aware of the crime “receiving stolen goods.”
