“Children have been shot in other conflicts I have covered. But never before have I watched as soldiers enticed children like mice into a trap and murdered them for sport.”
- Christopher Hedges American journalist on assignment in Gaza
That’s still not a great thing to be defending.
I didn’t defend anything, I pointed out why it’s wrong to derail a thread about Israel to make it about Russia.
Can we not be concerned about more than one thing at a time?
I know I can.
You quite obviously can’t, or you would be able to talk about the topic of Gazan children as well.
I think we should keep discussions on topic.
Israel is intentionally hunting and killing children (still, even after the ceasefire). Bringing up Russia is a derail, because they don’t actually do that.
You can interact with Lemmy the way you feel fit as can I.
I can pay attention to more then one thing at once.
And I can call it out as a false equivalency, which is what I did. One is actually worse.
They’re both as bad and bringing it to attention shouldn’t be controversial.
Killing children is worse than not killing them.
Russia has killed plenty of Ukrainian children.
