Updated to include a disclaimer for Non-European but open source/self-hostable software and replace Pipedrive with efficy as the wrong Imprint was used to identify as European while being American.
The next infographic is ready. Any feedback is appreciated!
pCloud for another Dropbox alternative.
Thanks for the feedback! Added to the database: https://buy-european.net/category/file-management-software-cloud-storage
Have alread uses:
- openProject (though not that much since it was a one time occurance but the software was absolutely great!)
- xwiki: since a few months (work migrating away from the atlassian clusterfuck). Migration a bit of work but a paid tool did the most part for us. Now using xwiki - most things work the same. Some though had to be realised in a different way (some rare edgecass confluence plugins that were missing in the xwiki store)
- Mattermost. Using it for years. Its fucking great! Easily the best one on the market! Better than teams and whatnot.
I’ll look into the rest of those alternatives! :D
There really need to be financial incentives to get companies to switch to European IT solutions.
If just a few European enterprises would purchase these products, there would be enough funding to make them very competitive.
Absolutely! That’s why we want to promote moving to European solutions.
I don’t think many people know about Jottacloud, a norwegian cloud storage solution (only 5GB free though)
Buy the way, I see you posting from the two accounts, but you can just use the one you prefer, no need to keep both 😄
Oh, I know but thank you! It’s just that I started (stupidly) on Lemmy.ca, then became mod, then started an account on the proper server (feddit.org) - and now I would need to migrate. At some point I will.
Nice, first time I hear about a few of these!
We use Pipedrive and I can we wholeheartedly recommend it. For project management this is missing InLoox, which is a known quantity in German speaking countries.
YouTrack is great. I wish more companies would consider it instead of Jira.
I think its more actionable if the left column is labeled “American”. I can’t imagine that many public sector workplaces are very excited to be using American controlled software and sending all their national defense data to Trump’s fiefdom.
It’s not just American software in the infographic. We want to showcase European alternatives for lots of products and companies, not just American.
Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) is Australian.
lol mattermost. Good luck
Actually… I’ve been working for a comp thats using mattermost. For years.
And its friggin glorious. Its performant, rich in features and is FOSS. Fuggin love it.
Teams and whatever can take a dump on some field. I’m rooting for Mattermost
