I’ve just got a new bookcase that’s suitable for display of Gunpla, so I thought now’s a good time to share my collection.
It’s very amateurish work, with heavy usage of stickers. What little painting is done using Gundam markers.
Why are there only SDBB Gunpla, you ask.
I don’t have the dexterity to handle HG and RG.
If I’ve got any MG (including MGSD) or PG, it would be wasted on me. Plus, I have neither the time nor patience to build it carefully.
SDEX is way too shoddy for me.
SDCS looks good actually. I’ll be moving on from SDBB to SDCS; just need find the time to build them😭 (I’ve got Calibarn, Mighty SF and Barbie Rex lined up.)
My favourite: the kitbash of 00 series Gunpla. It’s still incomplete; it’s missing 00 Raiser parts.
Claims to be amateurish, still produces something vastly better than I could…
What’s behind the two Barbatoses (Barbatosii?) on the lower left?
Their motherships (read: parts holders) and a mobile worker.
Here’s what they are supposed to look like after painting:
An SD fan, huh? I haven’t enjoyed the SD kits I’ve built, but they were all from the SDEX line and well… it’s as you say. “Shoddy” sums it up fairly well. How do the BB kits differ? Fewer stickers? Not having the whole back of the kit missing?
How do the BB kits differ? Fewer stickers?
This is the difference that matters most to me. Way less colour correction is required, which means less stickers / painting.
Makes sense. Stickers are usually the worst part of HG kits too, though a handful of HG kits don’t need 'em.
