I was under the impression that Luigi Mangione is INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty by a jury of his peers. That’s it.
Seeking the death penalty isn’t a conviction. They are just saying they are making their case for that sentancing, likely also signaling that no plea agreement would be accepted.
Though they likely don’t want to play fair, they want to send a message.
hence the word “seek”
