As an example, if I go to the starting guide and click on the top comment, I get the following response:
“This site can’t be reached The webpage at https://lemmy.world/comment/97159 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE”
Dev tools shows response code: 400 (from service worker) for this request.
I don’t see this behavior on every single comment link, but it shows up for a lot of them, seemingly randomly.
I see it across different browsers and normal vs. incognito mode.
Any clues on what’s broken?

The problem is known and it will eventually be fixed, but at the moment it is likely not high on the list of priorities compared to the image upload overhaul / cleansing.
Comments links are broken in here that is at Lemmy.world (for the time being until the actual rush is resolved, something to do about image upload).
if you go to another instance, say at lemmy.ca for example, and you find the same post and in that post you find the same comment, now, the link in there to the same comment will not be broken.
