I donā€™t know about you, but I feel like this place is missing is some fun weekly threads. The problem is, I need some help coming up with them. Thatā€™s where you come in!
We donā€™t need a ā€˜fun threadā€™ everyday. Iā€™d say Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are prime candidates.

Here are a few ideas. Everything is (hot &) flexible; nothingā€™s set in stone:

Sunday - A thread where users can post their favourite matches from the past. The match can be from dailymotion, youtube, or any other site that allows you to watch without leaving the fediverse. Matches can be from any era and any promotion.

This could land on a different day. The reason I picked Sunday is because there isnā€™t usually wrestling on Sunday, and as its a weekend people might have more time to actually watch some matches.

Meme/GIF Mondays - A thread where people can post their favourite memes/GIFā€™s from the past week in wrestling.

Beyond those two, Iā€™m stumped. A weekly general discussion thread would be great but Iā€™m not sure which day that should land onā€¦and I donā€™t know if I want a general discussion thread pinned for a week if it doesnā€™t garner much interest. A ā€œFantasy bookingā€ thread would be fun also, but I need some help figuring out how that should workā€”Is it fantasy booking shows or wrestlers?

What do you guys think? And if you have any ideas please share them. Letā€™s put our brains together and make this place even better.

I love the Sunday bit but, honestly, Iā€™d love a rewatch club of things matches from the past (any time period) and discuss them - almost like a book club but for matches.

(I know a lot of networks donā€™t have a ā€œwatch partyā€ option cough but there are other ways)

I really like this idea. Post a free match/show for folks to discuss, and maybe even also invite users to ā€œnominateā€ matches for future weeks.

I have more to say later (all positive! Just minor things to iron out first) but I just wanted to pop back in and say this is a terrific idea.

Hey, sorry Iā€™ve taken so long.
I think the ā€˜wrestling book clubā€™ is an amazing idea! My only issue is that I donā€™t think I can run it. I might be stretched a bit too thin these next few weeks/months and I need to start taking stuff off my plate instead of adding to it, if that makes sense?

Soooo how would you feel about running the club? ;) No worries if you canā€™t. Iā€™ll ask around and see if anyone else would like to.

        Can I say Iā€™d help someone? :)

Because, tbh, my mental health is really not in a place to coordinate events like this sigh; sorry!

Of course! And I completely understand.

Any ideas on how we should run it? Iā€™m not too familiar with how book clubs operate.

Sure! Typically you would have a set date where everyone would meet - IRL or online - each month (or however frequent you want the meetings; I wouldnā€™t go more than once a month) and then maybe a few weeks prior to that date, the title of the book (or, in this case, video, match, etc) would be announced so people can get a copy of it and watch it to be ready for the discussion.

This is why they generally donā€™t require a LOT of management but there is a little needed to coral everyone :P

(Iā€™m thinking about joining a book club in my apartment to get out more so Iā€™m going through all the steps now)
