Hi world admins!
I was a regular poster to https://lemmy.world/c/mealtimevideos, but it appears that community has been deleted. Were the mod(s) there inactive?
If it was shut down due to inactive moderation, I volunteer to take over moderation of it, as it was something I used often, so I could be pretty active there.
Hi, I was the mod of /c/mealtimevideos, https://lemmy.world/u/PartyCat. This is an alt account.
The lemmy.world admins banned my account for some reason, I think because of something I was testing with a bot account on my own instance that went awry. After starting out here on lemmy.world I’ve migrated over to mostly using my own lemmy instance now that it is stable.
An unfortunate side effect of that ban is it also immediately removes any communities I had created. I can’t even transfer ownership of the community to someone else. It seems only an admin can fix it.
In the meantime, there is now a !mealtimevideos@lemmy.best over on my own instance. However, I would absolutely prefer that the original community gets reinstated, whether I am mod of it or a new one is found to replace me.
It’s noted down in the public instance modlog as a ban for vote manipulation: https://lemmy.world/modlog?page=1&actionType=ModBan&userId=83886
I hope admins will discuss such things in future. Being abruptly banned without warning is one of my biggest fears using the Fediverse. Often Discord servers will have clear Rules and basically a Terms of Service, as well as a clear procedure for what happens if rules are violated.
Ahh, damn. Well hopefully the admins reverse it then! Thanks for letting us know, I’ll subscribe to your new instance.
And if you make a post on the new community, I’ll make you a mod. Or if by some chance my account gets unbanned I’ll add you as a mod to the original community.
I never wanted to be the sole mod, just wanted to make sure the community existed. You made quality contributions and expressed interest, so absolutely make sense to be mod.
