Hi, Baltimore USA guy here. I am planning a major trip with my family for the winter of 2023. Our kids are basically all grown up now, all in their early 20’s, and this would be a great reason for us all to get together one more time for a family vacation. We talked it over and we decided on Iceland (yay)! We all had our own reasons but mainly seeing the northern lights was something that was on all of our bucket lists and seeing it in Iceland would just be super cool. The country seems really awesome and there is so much to do. Right now we are looking to stay in downtown Reykjavík, rent a car, and do some touristy stuff. We’d like to see some ice caves, maybe hit a lagoon, of course see the northern lights, we watched the TV show Katla so we thought it might be cool to see that as well. Are there any recommendations you can make as locals? Let me know if there’s something that’s cool we should see in the city as well, we are looking into museums and things like that but are looking for ideas on other places to go or restaurants to sample. We were also pretty hooked on your show Trapped and my wife really wanted to see Siglufjörður but I heard that may not be a good idea at that time of year. Also, what kind of beer and cocktails are popular there? Thanks in advance, skal!
