Influential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.
The Dems have had the wrong platform pretty consistently.
2016 - people were tired of the establishment which is why Sanders got popular, but the DNC picked Clinton (textbook establishment)
2020 - people got Trump whiplash and wanted someone presidential and energetic to fix relationships w/ other countries, but the top four candidates were over 70
2024 - people wanted to fix inflation, and Harris promised the “status quo”
People are tired of Trump, mostly because of the sheer onslaught of changes. If the next candidate wants to flip the table again, I don’t see them doing well. Save that for the second term once things have been put back to normal.

Uh… no? It’s because of all the fascism and wrecking the economy. There’s a lot more that’s objectionable about Trump than change. If the underlying issues of American society are not addressed, there will be no second term because the right will be able to say “see? Liberals don’t care about you as long as they’re in power.”
Change is a pretty broad category. Here’s what I’ve seen from conservative neighbors, conservative posts online, etc:
immigration - people want the law enforced, but not to be mean to people
tariffs - people hate prices going up and don’t understand the benefits (because they don’t exist IMO)
inflation is not getting better, the job market is getting worse, and interest rates are still high
his cabinet picks, Musk’s DOGE, etc all seem very ineffective and incompetent
Go ask a center right person that voted for Trump and they’ll say they regret their vote. One of my friends voted for Trump in 2016 and I think 2020, but not 2024. Ask that same person if they think Trump is fascist and they’ll probably say no.
The rhetoric here online doesn’t match peoples’ opinions IRL.
there will be no second term
If they’re not incompetent and actually do a decent job, they’ll win reelection. Biden did okay for a year or so, and then not so much, yet the DNC tried to cover it up and Harris promised more of the same. That’s not going to cut it, they need another Obama or Bill Clinton.
I’m rooting for the DNC to figure things out because the GOP obviously isn’t.
