I see both your and the other commenter’s point. Sometimes people genuinely recognise they aren’t good at something and would not contribute much (I’ve been there), but other times this could stem from insecurity rather than honesty. It’s difficult to know which one applies.
I’m leaning towards dick here. This is how people learn - why not be a good chap and help someone develop a hobby?
