    FDR had his share of isolationists and Nazi lovers in Congress which is one reason he created Lend/Lease. When they stopped him from shipping aid directly, he sent it to Canada and trans-shipped to Britain.

    We abandoned the Kurds. We abandoned Afghanistan. If we abandon Ukraine in the middle of a fight, what kind of message does that send to Taiwan, China and the rest of the world?

    Our largest challenge is to remember history.

    President Joe Biden has vowed continued US support for Ukraine, after further military funding was excluded from a last-minute congressional budget deal.

    Senior Senate leaders from both parties released a joint statement signalling their intention to “ensure the US government continues to provide” support to Ukraine in the coming weeks.
