“You basically just hope that nothing goes wrong,” a nurse said about a shift with the app Clipboard

Having to rely on contract nursing is bad enough. Those nurses are typically given briefer forms of training than actual staff. But this is just a new low. There needs to be training in any facility where a nurse or aide is going to work.

Patients have been harmed. Nurses not trained or paid. Facilities staffing entirely via short term staff.

I thought there were controls in health care, like license boards for doctors, nurses, and facilities. What do the insurance companies for these facilities think? (Are there not dozens of lawsuits?) (Sadly, money talks louder than empathy.)

This is very bad. Great reporting by all involved.

My father was in hospice care for end stage leukemia earlier this year.

The nurse refused to say if she was vaccinated. IE, was not.

Dumb bitch had the nerve to claim HIPPA meant she didn’t have to answer the question while trying to visit someone without an immune system.

As someone who works in an industry that deals with HIPAA-oriented concerns constantly, I’m consistently amused by how many people think that HIPAA means “I don’t have to tell you shit about fuck with regards to literally any medical stuff I may or may not have”.

Honestly, in your shoes, I’d actually try pretty hard to get her fired, because she’s going to kill someone with her negligence.

Once again we see examples of capitalism asking “how can we make everything worse to enrich the absolute worst and most undeserving actors in society?”

And everyone is just like “this is fine.”

I had no idea this was a thing. How awful. We have a family member in a short-term rehabilitation facility right now and it’s extremely chaotic there, lots of turnover. I wonder if they are using these apps, which would add to the chaos. Definitely something to ask about if you have an older family member who will need assisted living or a skilled nursing facility…as if those decisions aren’t hard enough.

It’s been better, but my father was in ICU for 2 whole months because of a operation that didn’t go too well.

It cost a lot of money, but he had to pay like 2.5k for it. I believe the whole ordeal cost upward of a 100k. This was last summer.

He’s been in a wheelchair most of his life because of a fractured nek. he uses it with his arms, but has electic assist. No cost. And drives a special van with an lift that cost 110k back in 2011. He only had to pay part of the van itself, a regular VW transporter. The whole special system made just for him to get in, out and drive with only his arms was paid by insurance. I can go on just about him lol. He wasn’t lucky in life but at least he was lucky about being born Dutch.

What happens, is it sexy fun time? I hope it’s sexy fun time.

    Edit.
It’s definitely not sexy fun time.
