Every once in a while, the heating element seems to break on my Gaggenau EB 378 610 oven. Other than that, it works fine.

This time though, I am unable to find a replacement part since the manufacturer discontinued it. I searched everywhere online and on eBay, but was still unable to find it.

I would rather not buy a new oven since that would be very expensive and I like this one. Does anyone have any ideas about where I can find a replacement heating element? Or am I out of luck?

It’s a convection element, part #00098494, 100L

At some point the cost of replacing elements is going to exceed the cost of a new oven. You could stock up on elements if you can find any.

I don’t think I’ve ever had an element break on me, though, even on decades-old ovens. You might want to check the power to the oven and element just to make sure you’re not over-volting it or something.

Definitely possible. The first one lasted nearly 30 years (until 2020), the second lasted less than a year and was still under warranty, and the third just broke a few weeks ago. My repair guy seems to think the replacement part he’s been able to get is just lower quality than the original.

We did have a few outages this year - more than normal for us. Do you think power surges could have contributed to it breaking?
