People take amphetamines for fun? In this economy?? With a shortage going on???
It’s really cheap in Europe and typically the drug of choice for many party situations.
I often forget that they have a different effect on the unafflicted.
You take amphetamines to make your brain work at 200% output. I take amphetamines to keep my brain distracted so everything else can work properly. We are not the same.
I feel like it’s more like getting the straw closer to the bottom of the dopamine barrel.
If you took a much larger dose than is normally prescribed, you would probably feel it too.

I do take my meds for social events, because I’m tired of zoning out during conversation all the time lmao
But yeah, it’s not something I would take for “the buzz”. I think that might just stress me out.
With ADHD, you’d have to take a lot for a buzz. Although when I first started Adderall, I had euphoria for the first two weeks.
Man, those were the days. When high school was absolutely engaging, even in my hard classes.
I didn’t mind the side effect, but being able to focus so much better, and actually having the motivation to do things I want to do is euphoric enough
I mean, ADHD doesn’t just disappear on weekends, so that’s fair.
Seriously though, everyone just expects me to perform well at uni and work, but what about my hobbies? My personal projects? It’s affecting me there, too
Yeah, I really don’t understand taking amphetamines for recreational use. It’d be like putting on my work pants to go to a party.
If you take enough at once, you’ll start to feel really giddy & sociable for about 5 hours, and that works well for parties. It’s kinda like mollies but without the synesthesia. It’s an awesome feeling. In fact, it’s too awesome: there’s a serious risk of getting addicted to a dose that’s well above what’s considered therapeutically safe & useful.
Furthermore, the comedown is a 48-hour nightmare of perpetual executive dysfunction, followed by a week or two of increased tolerance, which might make you wonder why you ever decided to do something so fucking stupid in the first place with meds that you actually need in order to properly function.
I fully understand taking it for recreational use, but I don’t recommend it.
ITT: Everybody ignoring that Molly (MDMA) and meth (methamphetamine) are amphetamines, too.
