Star Trek: Prodigy. It’s the Nickelodeon show for kids who have never watched Star Trek. It features a cast of new alien species who find a mysteriously abandoned prototype Starfleet ship. The ship mistakes them as a batch of Starfleet recruits, and a holographic Janeway teaches them the basics of the Star Trek universe and things like the Prime Directive.
If you want that cartoony trek, Lower Decks is also great. Just don’t watch with the nieces and nephews unless they’re older… It is the horniest ship in Starfleet, even though that doesn’t come up nearly as much as the meme would have you believe.
Paramount & Nickelodeon dropped Star Trek Prodigy recently, but it’s coming to Netflix very soon. The 20 episode first season will be out on Netflix before end of year, and a new season in 2024.
And many older fans are loving it too. I’d describe it as ‘family viewing’ rather than a show for kids. It starts out (intentionally) feeling like that other big franchise to some extent but by episode 6, it’s the Trekkie’s thing ever!
For the old man in here, apparently, what’s bottom right?

That sounds amazing! I might have to recommended it to the nieces and nephews/totally not use them as an excuse to watch it myself.

Don’t get too attached. Paramount is not treating that show well.
