You can push to 3/4 years easily nowadays. I had the 12 pro and it was ok, only the battery life sucked and now that I switched to 15 pro I notice a big difference in speed and battery. Also the camera is the one who gets the huge improvements, but I personally don’t care that much about that.

If by new you mean the latest, 4-5 years.

I’ve settled in nicely after three years. I’m a very heavy user, so after three years, the speed and battery improvements are well worth it.

I’m using an iPhone 8 plus since 2018. Haven’t had a real urge to upgrade yet. Only when it stops working, will I.

Do you want the latest features? Go ahead get the new one.

Do you want a phone that just works? I’m still using the SE 2016 as my primary.

Do you want to get the best experience at a good cost? Try to get the last 3 to 4 generations.

I got a 12 when they first came out. Just got a 15. Literally the only reason I upgraded was for USB C. The 15 I’ll probably keep until it’s no longer supported or it dies. Whichever happens first. Unless there’s a feature you want, there’s no point in upgrading every year.

I just upgraded to IPhone 15 Pro Max from a iPhone 7 Plus (2016).
