Hello everyone, I got my sister iPhone 15 pro as a gift. She was using Android ever since she started using smart phones. I’m still an android person. And tips for getting her started? She already moved her, data, contacts and apps to iPhone. She didn’t move her photos cause it was around 85Gb. Any new suggestions are welcome. Thank you :)
Advise her to use it as new. IOS is way different than android, so comparisons won’t work. She needs to be ready for a new perspective into things.
She’ll be fine. Welcome to the club!
She is slowly getting the hang of it. I think she’s really frustrated with notifications. Is there a way we can see each notification from the same app separately. Because, notifications are stacked together from the same app and she can’t see them individually. It just shows the first notification from that app. She can either clear all notifications from that app or just tap it which opens the app and clears all notifications from it
The easiest way is to think it’s a different way of notifications.
The hardest way is knowing it’s shit, but moving on anyways. 😅
I prefer minimum notifications. So I turn off maybe 80% of the notifications of the apps I got.
Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and change Camera Capture to Most Compatible. This will prevent any issues when she takes a photo and tries to share it with non-Apple devices.
Bad advice. iOS automatically converts images to the needed format. The high efficiency format saves storage space.
You’re right, it depends on an individual’s needs. I worked tech support for a software company that allowed users to upload images to print postcards, brochures, etc. There would be a lot of instances where someone would upload an HEIF and it wouldn’t work. I’d recommend JPEG and it’d solve that issue.
Great advice from you both! She has 100gb of cloud storage on Google photos with storage saver quality. Will that be enough for her to keep using the compatible format?
Not needed. As someone else stated, Apple converts it automatically or more specifically: Apps like WhatsApp or other messengers convert files and videos, usually to a lower (file saving) format
One thing I’ve always loved about apple, is their systems are super easy and simple to learn. @OkOffice7726 is correct. Just using it is the best way to learn. Apple does have an App called TIPS that can also help her as well. Hope this helps.
She did it was really helpful
sell the iphone and get a real phone, an android!
hating on iphones on an iphone subreddit is crazy. It’s like you wanted to be downvoted.
Both are really good these days. She loves taking videos and from what I have been told and seen, it seems the iPhone is really good at that.
true iphones do have good cameras
