What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

    Calvin Johnson

His hands took too many stafford fastballs and he held up the team on his back too often. Big Part of why he retired early was the way football took its toll on his body

While I understand where you’re coming from, isn’t Calvin considered a top five WR of all time? Like Rice, Moss, Owens and then Johnson?

I agree. Megatron is one of the greatest receivers of his generation. He was put into the HOF in 2021

The difference is that Rice, Moss, and Owens all had a chance to play on good teams at some point in their career.

Pretty sure first ballot Hall of Famer solidifies that he was great. “Staffords fastballs” is honestly a weird take. It was far more Calvins bruising play style that lead to his injuries.

Calvin Johnson was absolutely great. I don’t know many people who wouldn’t agree with this. He was hands down one of my favorite players who wasn’t on my favorite team. He made so many amazing catches and was always humble about it. I miss the dude.
