I live on a college campus and tonight I got like 5 notifications in a row after going to a club meeting saying that an AirTag was detected near me. I clicked on the notification, and it was tracking my location from my meeting to the dorm. Is this just a glitch? I’m a young woman so I’m just a tad worried and my parents aren’t helping 😭 I wouldn’t really think much of it but the walk was like 15 mins and it kept track the whole way
AirTags use other iPhones to help locate themselves. If you travel with the same AirTag for a while it will notify you. I walked my friends dog and I got a few of them because the dog had an AirTag on his collar and it used my iPhone to help locate itself.
If you were at a club meeting it was probably because someone at the meeting had an AirTag and it used your phone to help locate itself.
Did someone else from the club walk the same direction as you?
