Seriously, like i must see 20-30 AW per day minimum. I’ve never even encountered one ultra, ever. What do you think the percentages actually are? Why are the percentages so high here? Just surrounded here by AW aficionados or something? It’s begun to feel surreal.

I see them all the time, even on people who don’t look like they’d spring for the Ultra. Kids, small woman, really skinny guys. I see them all over

I’ve seen two in the wild, in addition to mine. AWU is a big chunky mofo and the smaller cheaper AWs do almost everything AWU does, in smaller and more affordable packages.

This right here couldn’t be more true. Only reason I got the AWU myself is because I’m clumsy and wanted something a little more sturdy

Def happy with the sturdiness of it. No scratches yet and I don’t baby it other than taking off during construction projects (cause it’s too damn bulky)

I picked it up because the GPS is much more accurate on the Ultra than on my old SE. Multi-day battery life is also great for hiking/camping trips. But I agree, for 99% of users the standard AW is fine!

I’ve only seen one IRL, sitting on a train and using my watch to show my ticket QR code and having the conductor call me fancy for doing it on my S5, while he’s got an Ultra around his wrist. Had a little back and first, was good stuff

haha, yea it depends on a location. Back where I’m from I was very surprised of how many people were wearing AWU in the very early days of it’s launch. I wasn’t expect that. And then I found out that these were Chinese knockoffs on people’s wrists 😂

This is one of the most American brainwashed by capitalism comment I’ve seen in a while. Sorry if you meant it in a sarcastic way… my radar is off recently

I ride mtb and road and got one primarily to save weight. Don’t have to carry my phone anymore with LTE on the watch. Half joking on the weight, but I’ve also broken a few phones mtbing so that’s another benefit.

I’m a roadie and I like to keep my jersey pockets free. Easier to get a jacket or something out while riding if you don’t have a phone in there as well.

It’s titanium so it’s still lightweight. The real issue is the aero drag it causes.

Probably just a matter of chance. AWU makes up a small percentage of AWs in the wild, and you only see a small percentage of all possible AWs in your area because you likely aren’t walking around staring at everyones wrists or they’re covered by a sleeve.

So now you have to happen to see the small percentage of the small percentage of watches you see every day to find an AWU. Chances are you’ve been near someone wearing one, you just didn’t notice.

I’ve only seen one once irl. It looked cool, but it was on a big dude and still looked pretty large, a little over the top in an office setting.

I was interested in the ultra’s long battery life but it would be too much watch for my arm. I went from s5 to s9 and the battery life is fine, really especially given how fast it charges.

It’s too bulky, I’ve put one on, and it looked awful on the wrist. I don’t think I would buy it if I did some outdoorsy stuff, regular aw is fine for that as well, if you worried it gets scratched get a case for the one day a year when you feel outdoorsy. I think I have to gain like 50lbs for it too look decent on my wrist.
