Within the next month, the Ford government is expected to announce it’s not renewing the Master Framework Agreement, which prevents anyone but The Beer Store from selling beer by the case.
I agree it’s ridiculous that we still have this private monopoly running. IRRC the contract is coming up for renewal and they’ve already tried to get rid of it before but it would have resulted in billions in penalties. I hope they do get rid of the beer store, but fuck the cons.
