I’m 19 now, but I got my first phone and my current iPhone, a Sierra Blue 13 PM, in 2021, when I was 17.

I was never interested in getting an iPhone, since I was a big sideloading guy and I didn’t want an expensive phone at that age.

But my dad’s office plan is the only way by which we get new phones, and he swore that he’ll never buy anything outside of that, which is why I went with the 13PM.

Honestly, I’d say I was like every other teen then, except I made my phone the primary device of all my socials, music, etc etc (previously it was my dad’s phone)

But I took the phone with great care and tbf, even now, can’t stop appreciating the colour, the elegance and even the camera quality

Kids at my grade also gave me side eyes when they saw an iPhone in my hands (I was living in the Middle East) since most of my mates back then were either on mid range phones or had no phone at all.

It kinda bothered me, since I felt that I was giving off “rich kid” vibes, even though I ain’t very rich, but now that a lot of people have iPhones, I feel better about myself

How was it for y’all?

My first real experience was with the iPods back in the day. Having a touch screen device without a pen was wild.

I was in 6th grade when the first one came out, it was so cool to be able to browse the internet. I got an iPod touch 2nd gen which was more than enough for me in 7th grade. Got my mom’s 3GS in 8th grade, and then my own 4S in 9th, around when i turned 15

I started with crappy Chinese phones before android was a thing. My first true “smartphone” was Samsung Galaxy Y.

After my first Paycheck arrived, I jumped to Oneplus 7 Pro, then a used iPhone X…. And then never looked back.

Got the iPhone 1 when I was in high school. Until then I had been carrying around my psp and razr. My psp was my everything, mp3 player, gaming, videos, porn, etc. the iPhone combined two devices for me into a smaller package and I felt like I could do anything with it. It was cool as fuck back then.

I got the iPhone 5 (refurbished) around 2014 I was probably 16/17. Back then cheap android phones weren’t good but you’d know that the iPhone would work really well and last long. A lot of people in my school also had iPhones. Once I was in college and had a job I then got an android flagship phone (Samsung Galaxy s8).
