Next years RB FA market is looking wild and I am really curious to see who gets paid what Derrick Henry, Saquan Barkley, Austin Eckler, Josh Jacobs, and Tony Pollard are all hitting the market and looking to get paid. Does anyone get over 10 mil a year for more than a 3 year contract?
*Chiefs
Why are these in averages?
Saquan would be an upgrade over any of these guys
CMC averages $16 million but a lot of that was paid by the Panthers. His 49ers deal is roughly 4.5 years and $36.9 million.
Anyone remember how much did Rosenhaus think he could get for Jamaal Williams?
None of these guys except Josh Jacobs is getting a big bag IMO
Saquon is getting a 1 year prove it deal somewhere
Swift was such a great trade.
I don’t think it will just be FA feeling the heat. This past off-season, we saw several RBs, like Mixon, take a pay cut to avoid being a cap casualty.
Looking at a guy like Nick Chubb, who will be coming back from serious injury, the Browns can either pay him $15.8 million or cut him to save nearly 12 million. My guess is they renegotiate his deal. Someone like James Connor could also be asked to take a pay cut or released. I’m sure there are others.
The dolphins 3rd string rb being top paid in the division is hilarious honestly
