Amidst field talk during current events like slipping in SBLVII, non-contact injuries, concussions, etc., I recently learned (I’m a Packers fan) that the Colts currently use awful turf, and are planning to upgrade it.
My question is, why the hell don’t the Colts upgrade to Kentucky bluegrass? Besides the marketing potential, it would solidify the stadium as one of the very best in the league. The stadium is already aging like fine wine. Grass with the retractable roof would perfect an all-around natural/modern blended feel.
Does anyone know whether there are limitations to stadiums that prevent grass? For context, State Farm Stadium was built in 2006, they also have a retractable roof and they use real grass.
Bluegrass stains on speed blue uniforms would look so good. I feel like it needs to happen.
If $ is not an issue, let’s go retractable field. Open up the side of Lucas to pull in and out of for UV exposure, feed and drain out there. Hypotheticals here people
