The majority of Jews are at least partly Mizrahi, ie. of Middle-eastern or North African descent. IRC Jewish conservatives are more likely to be Mizrahi, where as Ashkenzi (‘European’) Jews are more likely to be left-wing.
Prime example: Ben Gvir, the far right minister of National Security, is of Iraqi/Kurdish descent. So if anything this whole thing is Middle-Eastern Muslim values vs. Middle-Eastern Jewish values.
As you say, they’re not great on gay rights either. Certainly not ideological bed fellows of Dana International when she sang about her love of bananas after Eurovision.
