Hi all! I’m new to Indianapolis and I’ll be attending my first NFL game in the US on Sunday. I’m checking parking options for Sunday, and it seems I can park for free very close to the Stadium on Sunday, if I arrive early enought, by parking in one of the streets downtown near Circle Center Mall.

I went downtown today, and I was told that park meters don’t work on Sundays, and it seems that it’s just a 5-10 min walk from Lucas Oil Stadium. Since I didn’t see any mention of street parking downtown in my online search for parking options, I wanted to know if there is a catch with street parking downtown? Are the streets closed on game day or something?

Thanks!

We parked in Washington Township Park, I don’t recall the price but I do remember it being MUCH cheaper than the parking lots I saw. 10 minute walk max.

There’s plenty of free street parking on game day as long as you’re willing to walk a mile. Never had an issue.

This exactly, less than a mile north are neighborhoods you can park in and either grab an electric scooter or walk.

DO NOT park on the street as the police department are gonna put up no parking signs; come back 5 minutes later& tow ur car. Take the bus downtown; find out which bus to ride roundtrip& grab a schedule so u can catch it before the traffic gets tied up. Ur getting this info from a man who sold peanuts @the games; rode the bus& had the smarts to leave the stadium before the end of the 4th quarter to catch the bus home.

Street parking is free in downtown Indy on Sundays and some holidays. No catch. First come first serve. The only street closed regularly is South Street right in front of the stadium. If you park too close, traffic can be nuts after the game. I usually park closer to the State House and walk from there.

I park on West street near the I 70 entrance. In and out easily and it’s $20. So much closer than downtown

One option I would add is if you are okay paying, we usually park in an IUPUI parking garage (it’s right across the street from the National Institute for Fitness & Sport). I’m not sure the cost as my wife was a student there in the past but i am assuming it’s gonna be like $5. Then you have a nice walk by the canal, up past tailgates at Victory Field and then to the stadium. Also easier to avoid traffic when leaving.
