They KNOW they’re spam calls. They KNOW the uncheckmarked numbers are not valid. So why the hell do they let these calls through? Anyone know?
I dont get any anymore
I’m with AT&T and I receive very few spam calls.
Switch carriers to one that does
Never cuz they suck!
Damn, I moved from CT back in ‘96. Very weird for me to see a post on Reddit showing a Waterbury phone number. I was from Naugatuck.
I used to get several spam calls a day. I started blocking any number that even remotely seemed like spam, and now I probably have over 200 on the list. It took a while, maybe a few months, but the calls gradually decreased until they stopped almost altogether. Now I may get one or two a month at the most.
My carrier (Telus) here in Canada has a great feature called Call Control. If an unknown # tries to call me it prompts them to input a code on their end to verify they’re human. I literally get no spam calls. Ever.
With this feature I get to add 20 contacts as a whitelist who call me often and I verify.
If you live in the US, your carrier likely offers an app that will prevent spam calls from ringing and spam texts from delivering. It may cost a couple bucks (USD) a month or may be free. AT&T ActiveArmor is absolutely superb at blocking spam calls and texts and I notice the crazy increase in spam every time I turn it off or leave AT&T. The premium version comes free with AT&T Unlimited Premium and AT&T Unlimited Elite (for those that still have it) and is I think a $3.99 /mo add-on for other plans. There is also a free, less robust version, available to users on cheaper plans as well. But to answer your question, carriers already can. It’s your job as a customer to decide if you want to let them.
I’ve been getting so many lately. The problem is that in the midst of all the trash, a few calls I need to actually accept get routed as spam and I end up missing them.
Is your number on the Do Not Call list? You have to renew it every so often too.
I just answer and start saying racist shit if they have an Indian accent. Is that bad? Probably, but fuck em.
I did SO MUCH of that- ohhh the bad stuff I said. They start off all polite but when they hear me they turn into Satan. They’re all scumbags
I have a coworker that tries to have elaborate conversations with them. I don’t have that kind of patience.
Use Robokiller
Some do depending on the carrier
Afaik you can tell them to block 3rd party calls automatically
Pixel block these spam calls automatically.
