With the Browns, Broncos and Bears still having only tied their finishing record from last season and the Colts having one more win than last season, the Texans are currently the only team to have three more wins than last season, including their first win against the Steelers since 2011.
The Broncos started the season 1-5 including the historic loss to Miami and have turned things around beautifully, including a victory over the reigning champion Chiefs and a victory over the Vikings who had a 5-game winning streak at the time they played. The Broncos haven’t allowed an opponent to score more than 22 points since week 5, and in week 8 were the first team to hold the Chiefs to a single digit score since the Titans did it on October 24, 2021.
The teams that currently need just one more win to tie their win total from last season are the Dolphins, Raiders, Lions and Rams.
On the flip side, 6 teams have already matched or exceeded their 2022 loss total entering Sunday of week 12:
Washington Commanders 8-8-1 in 2022 4-8 in 2023
4 of these teams finished in first place in their division last season and only Kansas City is still currently in first place in their division this season.
Giants seem like the biggest disparity here, which is kind of surprising given that afaik their team didn’t change too traumatically in the offseason
