As the title says, I’m currently a third year undergraduate who’s currently doing 2 remote internships and trying to work on a startup with friends, but my school workstation is a 2019 13” MBA and i’ve been struggling with slowness for a while now. Would it be worth it to just buy a M1/M2 MBA while it’s on sale now or wait until summer when I (hopefully) have a paying internship? Right now, I don’t have much income other than about $100/week with an off campus job and would finance it through my apple card.
I would recommend to look for a refurbished M2 or M1 Air with 16GB of RAM. The model you have, while slow should still sell for some good cash, so you could offset the cost of the new device with your old one. If you’re looking for M1 specifically, I don’t think they will fall much further in price between the sales on now and summer next year. Technically Apple still sells them, so they count as current models.
