Hello,

I am looking for a 5W USB-C charging block to best charge my iPhone overnight (and minimize heat production). I’m not sure if it’s just me but I don’t see a 5W output charger block on Amazon, unless I am being dumb and I actually need to calculate the output wattage, which is different from the stated “face value” wattage? Not sure which is the case.

Anyhow, if anyone sees/knows a 5W USB-C charger block on Amazon, I’d appreciate if you could tell me the name of it or link it. Thank you!

The optimization setting will help. It automatically will charge to a certain percentage then slow roll it and notify you with an estimated time or timeframe. On the other hand you can create a shortcut to go into low power mode at any percentage you want.

Personally I have my shortcut set to turn on low power mode when it goes below 50%, and turns off when it’s charged to 80%.

Wouldn’t worry too much about super juicing your phone anymore. I can probably screen the shortcut script I have if you would like to copy it instead of trial and error.

Yes, the intention is these devices have smart throttling to not overwhelm or stress the hardware. You may want to consider a watt measuring cable, which will allow you to see the pass through at different battery levels if you’re concerned.

Just use a fast charger. The phone will regulate itself just fine. In 2-3 years just replace the battery if you lose a lot of capacity. Use it as it was intended!

Not really, charging speed can make a pretty noticeable difference to your battery life in a few years time.
