Tourists cannot pronounce most of the street names here and we’re fine with it. Make tourists learn new vocabulary, or at least believe they’re visiting a different country or something. If you call it cheesecake, expect them to think of it as cheesecake.

Thanks, Poindexter. I’m not the guy that named it though.

Me neither, so anyone saying I should insult them correctly when someone local to NOLA named it cheesecake needs to reevaluate something.

The restaurant the photo is from is in New Orleans. That’s the entire basis of the statement. Got that?

Yes but you are saying that Louisiana cuisine only comes from NOLA and claimed I was a NOLA resident both of which are wrong.

saying that Louisiana cuisine only comes from NOLA

                    No, I absolutely did not.

You offered a quote that said that if I was going to insult you, to do it properly, implying offense to it being called cheesecake.

You can go read my reply that says “Hey, I didn’t name it cheesecake, the restaurant in New Orleans did.” Meaning that you were evidently being insulted by a restaurant in NOLA, and not me, because I didn’t name the dish in the photo.

That’s it. That’s all that applies to you.

Next guy tells me it’s apparently named cheesecake because the real name is too hard for tourists to say, and in a manner I replied that it would be better to call it what is, because if something (still referring to this one dish in the photo here, not all of LA cuisine, or where it’s called elsewhere) is being called cheesecake by a place, expect people to think of it as cheesecake. And that I also did not name it cheesecake, so the whole “insulting” thing may need to be reevaluated since it came from someone in NOLA and not me, state foreigner.

That’s it. Still no commentary about LA cuisine as a whole only coming from NOLA. I have no idea where you got that. Just talking about this one dish from this one restaurant and the repercussions of them naming this thing cheesecake instead of what it actually is, and this is all connected to that quote regarding insulting someone properly, and the fact that it’s coming from a local there, not from me.

That’s it. Nothing but that. Please point to where I’m saying all your food comes from New Orleans.

edit: also, please point to where I say you are a NOLA resident. I’ve only gone along with your own claim of being a Louisiana resident.
