T.J. Watt is currently leading the league in sacks with 13.5, if he finishes as the sack leader he will be the first player to lead the league in 3 different seasons since sacks became an official stat in 1982

What is crazy is that he seems to have been off last few games but I think it is more because of the injuries to the secondary in Minkah and both ILBs being out. Watt, it seems, has been playing a lot more coverage in the flats and not just rushing every play. WIth a healthy secondary and if the line backers hand’t been hurt I think he’d be playing a different scheme, rushing more and have another sack or two.

It’s a bit of that, but also teams have been scheming against watt and highsmith by doing quick passes, which beats watt, but can also be dangerous if it becomes predictable.

True, in the Cleveland game they were hitting all quick passes to neutralize his rush.

For those wondering who has the record if 1960+ is included, it’s Deacon Jones with five seasons.

TJ Watt might legit get 5+ sacks next week against the terrible Cardinals OLine and if Kyler is hampered/Tune starts.
