Interested to know what everyone does when they have a formal date or wedding etc. do you wear your Apple Watch as is? Switch a band out? Go watch less? Switch to a nicer watch (Swiss, seiko) etc.

For decades, people have worn their Rolex Submarieners with a suit on formal occasions. Just because it’s a slightly more expensive mechanical watch doesn’t mean it’s formally appropriate. The only place I would allow a Submariner with a suit would be an upscale buffet on a cruise ship. But nobody really bothers with that. And it’s the same if you wear an AW Ultra to a wedding. Inappropriate but totally irrelevant

Part of the reason why I got the starlight band, to wear it for formal occasions. Those steps aren’t going to track themselves 😂

I will wear one type of band for a while. After a while I will switch to another band, and after that another. I like how it looks different in any photos that it appears in. Nobody else notice it nor even care, but I do and that’s all that matters.

If I was in the wedding party, I’d wear my Tag Heuer. Anything else and I’ll switch to the leather link band most of the time.

When I wear formal, its usually long sleeves for me and my watch is hidden most of the time. I still have an all metal Timex watch if really needed but most of the time (heh) I wear mine with the Nike band that came with it.

Usually switch to my gold Milanese loop with gold stainless steel series 7. It’s a handsome combo imo and Apple Watches are ubiquitous enough that it’s normal. But stainless definitely adds a small level of class and pop compared to aluminum

If I’m having a meeting I don’t wear it. It doesn’t look professional, it looks like a toy watch in the eyes of people who are not familiar or obsessed with Apple products.

I wear my AWU everywhere for every occasion including dates. No change of band. Original to the end…

I have a stainless steel Kate Spade band and a variety of cases that I use for a dressier look.

Nicer band. If it was my own wedding I’d go watchless but otherwise, meh

I always wear my apple watch (unless it’s not allowed). I even wore it during my graduation.

For big formal things—my engagement photos, intending for my own wedding, etc, I wear the nice jewelry style watch I preferred prior to getting an Apple Watch. Yes, I plan to even at my wedding (mainly bc my very strong watch tan from 30 years of wearing a watch without fail means either makeup which risks staining or a different watch and I’d rather have a watch than not)

For other occasions, date nights etc, I just use a jewelry band on the Apple Watch and put it in movie mode to blackout the screen.
