Got bored of using Android for so many years. I still switch between iPhone and Samsung and currently I’m using the S23 Ultra, but I might switch back to iPhone because it has USB-C now.

Microsoft decided to kill Windows Phone.

Well, I literally picked up a 15 Pro Max 2 days ago and it was mostly curiosity. I had the original iPhone through the 4 then switched to Samsung. I’ve had every Samsung flagship from the Galaxy S2 to the 23 Ultra, sitting next to me as I type this, and I wanted to see what the latest and greatest from Apple could do. So far there’s a lot I like, but there’s definitely pros and cons to both systems.

As of right now, if I had to pick one, I’d probably stick with Samsung, but I’m forcing myself to use the iPhone as my primary because some of my hesitation is familiarity. We’ll see what the future brings, maybe I’ll have an Apple Watch, air pods and a Mac. Maybe I’ll still be Galaxy/Galaxy Watch/Samsung Pro earbuds and a Linux laptop.

I kinda had no choice my previous Samsung A31 (don’t blame Android, it was a budget phone from 2020) kinda gave up on me after excessive rooting, custom ROMS and going through tough times with it I was handed down a iPhone 6s from my dad (he got a 14 pro max) and I’ve enjoyed the 6s but I do miss Android even though I love iPhones bc they came out the year I was born ;-)

Used an iPod and then iPhone. Both were intuitive. I also own other Apple devices and I really like the Mac. I have used windows and android devices - both were relatively hard to use / cluttered / buggy in my experience.

Very good devices but iPhones have become expensive, this may be the last iPhone owned.

Back when I initially moved from android to iPhone, android phones had some issues. Phones take time to receive updates from manufacturer, battery life was an issue, etc…

By the time android figured all this out, I was already knee deep in Apple ecosystem.

I had Android devices from 2011-2017 with some iOS devices I used along side (iPod, iPhone) and around November 2017, I wanted to see what owning an iPhone was like. I haven’t looked back since. It also helps that almost everyone I know has an iPhone for iMessage and Apple Pay. Apps are the iPhone also feel better made to me.

It’s simple, never fails me, not too cluttered or complicated. Sure… Samsungs have all these crazy features and ways to change everything, but I have no desire to do that. I don’t know why people argue about this. It’s just personal preference.

Was iPhone from original to I think iPhone 5 or 6. Switched to pixel line (then galaxy) and loved it. Pixel 2 is probably my fav phone ever purchased. But their damn update busted the camera and I haven’t fixed it (I need to!). My last was the pixel 6 pro. It had serious overheating issues. I could not run the gps and music while on a car mount at the same time or the damn thing would overheat. Hell I couldn’t run just gps on a long road trip because of the overheating issue.

Came time to upgrade and it was a choice between an 8 pro or a 15. I looked at both and the iPhone actually made me excited. Though to be honest I miss the camera on the pixel. So many say the iPhone has a better camera or they are comparable. They aren’t. Sorry google has that in the bag. But everything else I love. I’m happy with this upgrade cycle. Hopefully google gets their heads out of their asses for the next upgrade cycle in two ish years.

Honestly, the user interface and design is very sleek and simple.

Though that is a double edge sword as many features and customization are left to be desired

Because I also have an Apple Watch, iPad, AirPods Pro, and a MacBook Pro. I genuinely benefit to an enormous degree thanks to the ecosystem. I need IT support once every two or three years and it’s usually because I’m trying to fix some Microsoft headache.

I live in an area with limited cell service, but we have internet so I can iMessage even when sms doesn’t work. Also, I have tried android phones and the interface makes me angry.
