I just picked up the 15 Pro Max and have been running into quality issues with the front camera, see (this thread) from u/heavensomething

I spoke to a senior advisor tonight and this is a software issue causing some post-capture compression and processing that they’re aware of and working to create a fix for. There isn’t a real work-around for it at the moment, but the advisor seemed to think it wouldn’t be a crazy wait for a patch/software update that will address it.

She confirmed it’s a software issue and not a hardware issue, so there’s not much to do, but wait for an update.

    So two threads of text and no examples.

    Sorry to break it to ya, the iPhone 14 Pro had an equally shitty front camera (and back cameras). No idea why I still buy iPhones when they keep getting objectively worse optics.

      My 14 Pro front camera was so much better. Actually, no issues at all. My 15 Pro Max front camera is horrible.
